Archero 2 is a roguelike single-player RPG developed by HABBY, where you play as a new-generation hero, who must master every skill acquired to save the world from the dark forces. If you enjoy simple roguelike games, then Archero 2 is the game that you should try. In this Archero 2 Beginners Guide, I will provide you with some useful tips and tricks to help you get started and enhance your gameplay experience. And, if you are new to the game, you can take advantage of our Redeem codes article to grab some freebies and boost your game progress.
Gameplay Overview
At first glance, the game may seem simple or even boring, but once you start playing, you will quickly get hooked by its simple yet thrilling gameplay. Featuring adorable spirits, powerful orbs, and challenging monsters, the game offers a lot of things than it seems to. You will need to clear 50 waves per chapter, with intense bosses in between, making each chapter more interesting.
You need 5x Energy to start a Chapter and also get rewards automatically over time. While it may look like an easy casual game, the difficulty increases as you progress, with each wave bringing more monsters, some of which can throw arrows, fireballs, venom, and more, making it more challenging.
And what makes it even more intense is that once your HP drops to zero, you will have to start the chapter from the very beginning. This means that if you have built up a nice set of skills and abilities from level-ups, the Valkyrie, the Angel, the Demon, or the Roulette, you will lose all of them and have to start with just you, your basic arrows, and your hope to get good skills and abilities.
If you have played the previous game, you will have a good idea of the mechanics here. This game follows similar principles, or you might have tried Mighty Calico, which also has a comparable combat system. In both these games, you need to stand still to shoot your arrows, and if you move you can’t shoot, so you have to balance between shooting and dodging the monsters. This gets significantly difficult as you progress through later waves in each Chapter.
However, the game offers a variety of unique abilities and skills to help you defeat the hordes of monsters. For example, you can get different spirits like the Flame spirit, Bomb spirit, Venom spirit, Ice spirit, Laser spirit, powerful Sprite King, and a few more. These spirits act as your companions, firing flames, lasers, and ice balls toward the monsters, and more even if you move around.
Archero 2 Basics
Level Up Abilities
When you defeat monsters, they drop blue crystals which serve as EXP to help you level up. Upon leveling up, you get to select between two to three random abilities, ranging from Fine to Rare, Epic, and Legendary.
The higher the tier, the more powerful the abilities, so choose them carefully, as your abilities impact a lot in this game. I highly suggest you prioritize the Spirites and Orbs, and even the flying swords can be quite useful. I will guide you regarding that anyway.
Some of the best abilities that you should look out for are: Flame Sprite, actually every Sprite is broken, two rotating Vamp orbs, and Laser orbs. If you can combine Vamp orbs with Corrosive Field blessings, you can clear every round with closed eyes, especially if you also have at least one or two sprites to back you up.
Valkyrie and Angel Blessings
When you encounter the Valkyrie, you can receive blessings ranging from Rare to Epic to Legendary. Unlike the Level-up abilities, you can only choose between two blessings from the Valkyrie. However, these abilities are always reliable and powerful, which makes them perfect for fighting against the relentless waves of monsters.
On the other hand, you meet the Angel right before every Boss battle, where you get to choose between two blessings. One option is a Random HP increase, while the other can either be Max HP, ATK power increase, or ATK speed increase. Choose them wisely, as Boss battles are challenging, and starting the battle with low HP will make it even more challenging.
Talent Cards
After completing the tutorial and playing Chapter 1, the first feature you unlock in the game is the Collectible section, where you can earn Talent Cards through Gacha mechanics. You can spend coins to Gacha spin for new cards, with the cost gradually increasing with each few spins, starting at 800 per Gacha spin.
On your first Gacha, you will most probably receive the Glory card, which is of epic tier, allowing you to choose a skill at the start of the first wave of each Chapter. As you progress and collect coins, you can collect a variety of cards that gradually boost your overall stats in the game.
For instance, you might unlock cards like the Super Iron Wall card, which increases your Collision DMG REDUC, the Healing card that restores your HP with each level in-game, the Vigor card which increases your Max HP, and there are a lot more you can collect. Just prioritize saving coins for Talent Cards at the beginning.
Shop
The in-game shop allows you to purchase Diamonds and Chapter Gift packs using real money through in-game transactions, although it won’t be necessary. You can also purchase three Newbie Packs at different prices, which you can find at the top left side on the home screen.
Now coming back to the Shop, you can draw from three types of Gear Chests: the Silver Chest, the Obsidian Chest, and the Chromatic Chest. The Chromatic Chest contains Uncommon, Rare, or Epic Gear. As you may already know, the better the gear, the better its overall performance and stats. This chest also increases the chance of obtaining S-Tier Epic gear.
You will get a guaranteed Epic gear within 10 draws, and a guaranteed S-Tier Epic Gear within 50 draws. You can obtain Uncommon, Rare, or Epic gear from the Obsidian Chest, with a guaranteed Epic gear drop after 9 draws. The Silver Chest, on the other hand only contains Common or Uncommon gears, and you get one free draw daily.
Gear
Gear is one of the features that you unlock after gaining some exp and completing Chapter 1, though you don’t necessarily have to complete it to unlock it. However, you should know that Gears are very important in this game, especially as the difficulty increases in later waves and Chapters.
You can collect a variety of gears for different body parts, such as the Heroic Longbow, Amulet of Decisiveness, Echo Helmet, Ring of Destruction, Boots of Decisiveness, Echo Armor, and more. These are just a few examples of the gears that I got for specific slots, you can get plenty of other gears too like Echo Ring and Echo Boots, and so on.
You will also find a Blacksmith in the Gear section, where you can merge duplicate gears to upgrade both their stats and tier. The process is very simple, you just need three duplicates of the same gear and tier to merge it. For example, if you merge three Fine Heroic Longbows, you will get a Rare Heroic Longbow with improved stats.
Roulette
In addition to Level-up abilities, Valkriye and Angel Blessings, and Demon’s Deal, you can also encounter Roulette at intervals between waves. There are two types of Roulette that you can spin, one primarily consists of resources like Gold and Scrolls, while the other gives you a chance to earn XP either small or large, restore your HP, encounter Valkyrie, or gain abilities like the Warrior’s breath, and so on.
Archero 2 Beginners Guide: Tips and Tricks
1. Movement and Alertness is Key
If you have played similar games, you will surely understand this concept, but let me emphasize again that movement is crucial in this game. And it’s not exactly about moving frequently to just dodge enemies, but about finding the right balance between dodging the monsters and their attacks and standing still to shoot back.
It may look easier in the initial waves, but as you progress further, you will realize how important this simple concept is. In the later waves of the Chapters, staying alert becomes crucial. Your game screen will be crowded with your Sprites, various orbs, flying swords, and relentless waves of unique enemies, with unique attacks. You will have to be quick and precise with your movement and make quick decisions on when to move, where to position yourself, and when to stop and shoot.
2. Choose the Valkyrie Blessings wisely
You should take the Valkyrie Blessings very seriously as they are game changers, and if luck favors you and you get the Legendary Blessings, you will have lots of advantages to clear the waves easily. As I already mentioned, you can choose between two blessings, so make the best out of it. Try to have a clear plan in your head, on what to get that will allow you to clear the waves with minimum struggle.
You can follow my strategy, which I can guarantee will help you to breeze through the game at least till Chapter 3 without a sweat. Prioritize collecting as many Sprites as you can, and if you can get the Sprite King it’s even better. In the later waves, when the screen becomes overcrowded with monsters, Sprites become very useful to clear them and also provide good support during Boss battles.
3. Choose Proper Angel Blessing
This is quite simple, as you typically receive similar blessings every time you meet the Angel, with one blessing being a random HP increase. You should prioritize the other option, which generally increases your ATK power, ATK Speed, and MOV Speed, and raises your Max HP.
Your main strategy should be focusing on having enough HP to clear at least the first few Bosses, as the other blessings stack up. The random HP increase is only useful if your HP is very low before a Boss battle, so it’s better you focus on blessings that improve your overall stats.
4. Choose your abilities Wisely
Priotize getting the different elemental orbs and also the Super Rotating Balls which gives you four rotating balls without any elemental effects. The Rotating Vamp Orbs and Laser Orbs are especially broken right now. You almost get the same abilities and skills as the Valkyrie, although you have less chance of getting a better or higher tier ability here.
You should also prioritize getting Sprites and Flying Swords. Beyond that, I think you can choose whatever you feel can be useful for you to combine with the abilities I mentioned or you can try out different abilities and see for yourself. You can also consider abilities like Diagonal Arrows, Split Arrows, Forward Arrows, Meteor Pursuit, and even Energy Rings are nice although you have to stand still and charge before shooting.
5. Make a deal with the Demon wisely
The Demon can sometimes offer you very tempting deals in exchange for your Max HP, but not all the deals are worth the HP sacrifice. So you have to decide wisely on whether to reject or sign the deal to acquire the skills. The deals typically offer skills of different tiers, such as Rare, Epic, and even Legendary.
If you are getting Sprite, it’s usually worth going for, provided you can afford to lose the required Max HP. However, you can skip deals where the skill is great, but you have to exchange it with 165 Max HP or 240 Max HP. Here’s an extra tip regarding this: If a deal is too tempting but the Max HP exchange is too high, you can still opt for it and then get it back after from the Angel Blessing.

In the game, you can obtain Blessings from the Valkyrie and Angel, along with regular blessings that help you defeat the hordes of monsters, so it’s important to choose them wisely.
