How to find out the exact date of creation of a Facebook account
Want to know exactly when you joined Facebook or how old your Facebook account is? Here’s a look at how to find out when you created your Facebook account.
How to find out the exact date you joined Facebook
The easiest way to find out when you joined Facebook is to use Personal data section on the Facebook website or app.
This section is buried in your Facebook Settings and Account Center. The easiest way to get to it is to open the Facebook website and type “your information” into the search box. Facebook will then provide a search result that says Get access to your information. Click on this.
In the left panel of the page that opens, select Personal data. This will open a new page with different information. The day you joined Facebook can be found below The date your account was created.
The steps to find Facebook account creation date on mobile are slightly different.
To find out when you’ve joined Facebook in the mobile app, follow these steps:
- Tap your profile picture to open the drop-down menu, then select an option gear icon.
- On Settings and privacy scroll down to Your information and select Get access to your information.
- Choose Continue. On the Access Information page, select Personal data.
- Under Profile informationyou will see The date your account was created.
The best way to find out the date your account was created is to do it on the Facebook website or app. But what if you can’t access your account?
Use your Facebook welcome email to find your join date
Another way to find out how old you are on Facebook is by using your welcome email.
When you sign up for a Facebook account, the site will send you a confirmation email as well as a welcome email. If you have access to the email account you used to create your Facebook account, you can find a welcome email that should tell you the date you joined.
To use this method, open the inbox of your email account. Search for keywords like “Welcome to Facebook”“Facebook registration confirmation”and so on.
When you find an email from Facebook that either asks you to confirm your email address or offers instructions on how to get started with Facebook, the date of that email should be the date you created your Facebook account.
This is the best way if you no longer have access to your Facebook account or have recently created an account – meaning the welcome email is easily accessible. But if you regularly delete your emails, you won’t be able to check your Facebook account creation date using this method.
Find out how old your Facebook account is using the profile picture
Facebook usually asks you to upload a profile picture once you’ve finished creating an account. This means that the date you upload your first profile picture should be the date you created your Facebook account.
However, this is not always the case. Some people prefer not to upload a profile picture, so this method won’t work for them. However, if you are still interested in getting a rough idea of when you created your Facebook account, you can open your profile page and select Photo.
On Photo locate and click on albums choice. This will allow you to view your Facebook photo albums.
Click Profile pictures on the album screen to open your profile photo album. Find the oldest profile picture in this album. As long as you haven’t uploaded a lot of profile pictures, you shouldn’t have any trouble getting the oldest picture.
When your oldest profile picture opens in full screen, check the upload date to the right of the photo.
This date should be the day you created your Facebook profile or very close to that date. In my case, my account creation date was July 24, 2007, while my first profile picture was July 25, 2007.
You can also technically try to use your old posts to figure out when you created your Facebook account, but that’s not a very accurate way to figure out the correct date. When I tried this method, there were no posts during the first month I created the account.
These methods can help you easily find out when you created your Facebook account. Of course, if you delete your Facebook account, only the email method will work. If you are in the habit of cleaning your Facebook account, the account creation date on the profile page will still contain the exact date.
