Soul Land: New World Soul Cards Overview

Soul Cards are a crucial way to boost your power rating of your MC. Besides Soul Card Summoning, you can also obtain plenty of Soul Cards through Soul Land Celebrity, Team Trials, and Heart Shadow Trials. Soul Card quality is divided into R, SR, SSR, and UR. Cards can be “upgraded” from R to UR by consuming specific Soul Cards. Each Soul Card provides base attributes, bond attributes, and extra attributes:

  • Base Attributes: Fixed attributes unique to each Soul Card.
  • Bond Attributes: Unlocked by completing bond missions specific to each Soul Card.
  • Extra Attributes: This can be refined by consuming Life Essence. If you roll a desirable attribute, you can lock it, but further refinement will consume additional Life Essence.

Resonance

On the first day of gameplay, two Soul Card Wheel of Bond, Friendship, and Growth, will be unlocked. As you progress, additional Wheel of Bond will become available. Tap on a Wheel of Bond to view its resonance effects. Soul Card attributes are categorized into Attack, Agility, Control, Support, and Defense branches. Equipping Soul Cards that match the Wheel of Bond’s attribute requirements will activate resonance effects.

Only one card of the same name can be equipped in a single Wheel of Bond. Multiple cards of the same name can be equipped across different Wheel of Bond. Each Wheel of Bond provides different resonance attributes based on the Soul Cards equipped. You can adjust your Soul Card setup to optimize resonance effects for your strategy.

Soul Land: New World Soul Cards SSR Guide and Tips

It is best to not rush when upgrading your cards to higher grades, especially if you’re a free-to-play or low-spender player. The focus is on making efficient use of your materials and ensuring that upgrades are worthwhile. First, always start by using SSR cards. You can use free SSR cards or EX SSRs if available. SSR cards are easier to upgrade, and the process consumes fewer materials.

While upgrading SSR cards to UR is straightforward, it becomes costly when refining and enhancing them further. This expense is significant for free-to-play players or even low-spenders. When choosing SSR cards, there are three types to consider:

  • Bad SSR cards (low limit score, no bonus attributes).
  • Good SSR cards (decent limit score with some bonus attributes).
  • Best SSR cards (high limit scores and EX attributes).

Avoid wasting resources on bad SSR cards. Use them as material for upgrading your good or best SSR cards instead. Good SSR cards often have bonus attributes like a 3% critical hit rate, while bad SSR cards do not. Using bad cards for progress will ultimately result in wasted materials since their potential is capped.

For players just starting, if only bad SSR cards are available, it’s okay to use them temporarily until you acquire better ones. However, once you obtain good SSR cards, transition to those for more efficient progress. A good SSR has a higher limit score and better stats, ensuring your account’s growth is optimized. When it comes to upgrading from SSR to UR, consider the following:

  • Upgrading UR cards introduces randomness in bonus attributes, unlike SSR cards, where certain bonuses are guaranteed.
  • UR cards may lose some of the bonus stats you could get with SSR cards upgraded to higher levels, like +16.
  • The materials required for UR upgrades are costly and difficult to obtain, making it critical to choose the right cards to upgrade.

For example, upgrading an SSR card with a guaranteed 4.2% critical damage to UR might only provide 2% critical damage due to the randomization of stats. This is a net loss, so it’s better to stick with SSR cards for longer before transitioning to UR. When you do decide to upgrade to UR, focus on good or best SSR cards as your base. Bad SSR cards should not be used because their potential (like limit scores and stat gains) is far lower.

Even if the materials are the same for upgrading different SSR cards, the outcomes differ drastically, making it crucial to prioritize quality over speed. Additionally, tailor your card setups to your play style. For PvE (dungeons, fighting monsters), focus on cards with stats that boost damage or survivability. For PvP (player versus player), prioritize stats like critical hit rate and burst damage. Mixing and matching cards for different modes can also help balance your strategy.

Soul Land: New World Soul Cards UR Guide and Tips

There are various types and levels of UR cards in the game. There are three categories: ordinary UR, good UR, and extraordinary UR, which is the highest tier. Ordinary and good UR cards are usually upgrades from SSR cards, but extraordinary UR cards offer significantly better attributes and performance.

The primary difference between these levels lies in their refinement and attributes. Higher-tier UR cards can have attribute boosts up to 5.5%, while ordinary UR cards only reach about 4%. Because the refinement materials required for all levels are the same, it’s inefficient to invest heavily in ordinary UR cards. They don’t provide sufficient value compared to their higher-tier counterparts.

However, players can still use ordinary UR cards temporarily if necessary. The recommendation is to save resources for higher-quality cards if aiming for long-term efficiency. When unlocking a card’s Soul Flame attributes, specific requirements depend on the card’s quality. Ordinary UR cards only unlock one basic attribute, such as endurance or defense, while better cards unlock multiple attributes, including random ones that provide additional bonuses.

Unlocking these attributes often requires sacrifices, such as using duplicate cards of the same type. For extraordinary UR cards, the requirements increase further, needing multiple duplicate cards and additional resources. Players should carefully manage these upgrades. For example, to unlock the potential of certain cards, you need to raise them to a specific level, typically +20.

Potential attributes, like Life Force or Resistance, enhance the card’s stats and are crucial for tailoring a character to specific roles (e.g., defense, offense). Before upgrading a card, check its potential to ensure it aligns with your goals. Mismanagement of resources can lead to inefficient upgrades and wasted materials.

When refining attributes, players should lock any desirable stats to prevent losing them during future refinements. If a card’s starting attributes are weak, it’s better to replace them until stronger ones are obtained. For cards upgraded to +8 or higher, random attribute slots open up, which can further boost their effectiveness.

Navigating Between SSR and UR Soul Cards

The key to the game is patience. Play gradually, upgrading SSR cards to +16 or +20 as you collect materials. Focus on acquiring and enhancing good SSR cards before moving to UR. This approach minimizes resource waste and ensures steady progress.

By carefully managing your cards, materials, and upgrades, you’ll optimize your account without unnecessary spending or setbacks. Higher-quality cards offer better options, but it’s still possible to refine repeatedly until you get the desired attributes. Always match your strategy to your character’s needs and the resources available to you. This careful planning ensures a more efficient and effective progression in the game.
