How I use the ChatGPT Multitool extension to massively enhance its functionality

Although ChatGPT is an incredibly powerful tool, there are a few missing features that could make it even better. As a regular ChatGPT user, I use Superpower ChatGPT, a freemium extension for Chrome, to enjoy new features and improve my ChatGPT experience.

1 Switching between different custom instructions

ChatGPT’s custom instructions feature allows you to provide details about yourself and how you want your responses to be. However, ChatGPT supports only one set of custom instructions.

This can be a problem for a person who wears many hats. However, I use Superpower ChatGPT to create multiple custom instructional profiles for various purposes such as work, study, research and personal questions.

To create different profiles:

• Choose and Superpower ChatGPT Manager button on the left side.
• Go to Custom instructional profiles bookmark (shortcut Ctrl+Shift+I) and select Add a new profile. Then set your own instructions like in ChatGPT.

If you want to switch profiles, go to Admin > Custom Instruction Profile and turn on Allow for new chats for the custom instruction profile you want to use.

2 Saving my favorite challenges to the built-in library

Superpower ChatGPT adds a prompt manager to the ChatGPT interface that allows you to save prompts and mark them as favorites.

From the quick manager (Ctrl+Shift+P), you can add new prompts to your library and organize them into categories. Once the prompts are saved, enter / on the ChatGPT message panel to view and enter saved prompts. Similarly, you can add challenges to favorites.

In addition to saved challenges, there is also a public challenge library where you can search for challenges from the community (if the creator has posted them).

3 Using fast strings and variables

With Superpower ChatGPT, you can not only save challenges, but you can also create entire chains of challenges. Prompt strings are a series of pre-set prompts that are automatically provided by ChatGPT by the extension.

They come in handy when performing routine tasks that require multiple challenges. For example, there is a ten-step public quick chain to create a comprehensive course. It starts by asking ChatGPT to define the main topic and learning objectives, then in various steps it creates a course outline, learning material, etc.

Another cool feature is the ability to add variables to prompts and prompt strings. Let’s say you create a quick chain for writing children’s stories. You can set the first prompt as “Write a story for children of {{age}} on {{topic}}. Every time you run a prompt, ChatGPT asks you to enter just the age and topic (instead of the entire prompt) and write a story based on the variables entered.

4 Organize, search and export conversations

If you use ChatGPT frequently, it can be difficult to find and manage all your chats. Since ChatGPT does not offer a feature to organize conversations, I use Superpower ChatGPT to organize my conversations into folders.

The extension allows users to organize conversations, color-code folders, and mark chats as favorites. Even better, it adds a search bar that will find conversations containing the word/phrase you entered.

Similarly, you can export your conversations in Markdown, JSON or text formats. Paid users can even export entire folders.

5 Access all images from the image gallery

Another useful feature that Superpower ChatGPT adds is the image gallery. You can view all your ChatGPT images from the gallery in one place. There are different tabs for images, graphs, uploaded and public images generated by DALL-E.

From the image gallery, you can open the conversation in which the image was generated and download the images. The image gallery also has a search function.

While Superpower ChatGPT is a feature-rich extension that improves your overall ChatGPT experience, there are other useful Chrome extensions for ChatGPT that focus on specific aspects such as prompts, layout, and chat management.
