Genshin Impact 4.4 Spiral Abyss: How to Clear Floor 12

Genshin Impact 4.4 Spiral Abyss Floor 12

Genshin Impact Version 4.4 update has brought a new set of enemies for both Floor 12 in the Spiral Abyss. Since these are the topmost floors of the Abyss, ensure that you have units that are at least sufficiently built for the teams they are in. In this guide, we will explain the new changes in the current Spiral Abyss, how to clear them in the current Genshin Impact 4.4 patch update, and the most optimal teams that can be used.

First Half

  • In the initial wave, the front area features two Cryo Specialist Mekas. It’s crucial to note that these Mekas exclusively employ Cryo attacks. Therefore, caution is advised against using skills that inflict Hydro on yourself, such as those from characters like Barbara or Xingqiu when afflicted with Cryo status. Upon initiating the challenge, approaching one Meka prompts the other to naturally converge.
  • The primary strategy revolves around brute force, and considering the absence of alternative tactics, prioritizing Area of Effect (AoE) DPS proves more effective than single-target DPS. It’s advisable to refrain from moving to different areas, as the next wave will also spawn at the same location.
  • In the second wave, the 2x Breacher Primus emerged almost precisely where the previous Mekas were positioned. Given their limited movement, reiterating the preference for AoE DPS becomes crucial. These Primus adversaries exhibit high Dendro resistance, necessitating caution when deploying Dendro DPS characters.
  • Periodically entering a stressed state, the Primus entities acquire a Dendro shield, unleashing waves of Lushmissiles that inflict substantial Dendro damage. Swift removal of this shield is highly recommended to prevent character casualties unless fortified with a Zhongli-level shield.
  • The most effective approach involves executing a single Arkhe attack (Pneuma or Ousia) followed by Electro and Hydro elements. Notably, bringing a Fontaine character, particularly one with Pneuma, gives you the ability to stun the Ousia-type Mekas encountered in the previous wave

Second Half

  • In the second half of the battle, you face a tough enemy called the Ruin Serpent. It usually spends a lot of time burrowing underground, making it challenging to attack. When it appears, you have about 20 seconds to deal damage. If it starts with a move called Steamroll, use all your powerful moves to hit it hard during this time.
  • If it doesn’t start with Steamroll, use your regular skills and save your strongest move for when it uses its Ultimate attack, which you can then interrupt. The boss will also do a Bomb Barrage attack, showing four weak points. Try to hit these weak points to interrupt its spinning move. Xingqiu is good for this, but Raiden Shogun or characters with AoE attacks can also help.
  • Once you destroy all four weak points, the Ruin Serpent will be paralyzed briefly. However, this only lasts for about 10 seconds. So, if you’re aiming for a high damage window, it’s recommended to restart until you get the Steamroll attack as the first move, giving you a longer 20-second opportunity to deal damage.

Chamber 2

First Half

  • In the first part, you face two Eremites, and they start in an enhanced mode, making them immune to Anemo crowd control. It’s best to target the Galehunter first because she can create an Anemo vortex, but she doesn’t chase you much.
  • The Stone Enchanter is more aggressive. It’s essential to have a character with a shield because you’re not just fighting two enemies but also their summoned beasts. Once you defeat the spirit animals, the Eremites become stunned for 10 seconds with reduced Geo/Anemo resistance.
  • In the second part, two more Eremites, this time ladies, spawn in the same spot and immediately enter an enhanced state. Focus on the Floral Ring-Dancer because the Loremaster can teleport to your location.
  •  It’s advised to defeat the spirit animals first, as they increase the ladies’ resistance. Once the animals are defeated, the Eremites become stunned for 10 seconds with decreased Pyro/Dendro resistance.

Second Half

  • You face a challenging boss, Setekh Wenut, in a single wave. Its movements are somewhat predictable, but there’s a bit of randomness. It typically goes through 4 attacks followed by a powerful Windbite Bullet Ultimate. The first attack could be either Anemo drill-like bullets or a surprise thrust attack from underground.
  • During the second movement, Wenut doesn’t attack but emerges, providing an opportunity to leave elemental items for reactions. The third attack involves an Anemo breath, and there’s a decent time window to counter. The fourth movement is similar to the second, with no attack.
  • After these movements, Wenut uses its Windbite Bullet Ultimate. You should use all your Elemental Skills and Bursts to destroy at least 2 bullets, reducing Wenut’s resistance to those elements and paralyzing it for a short time. Take advantage of this paralysis by unleashing all your Bursts.
  • Wenut then repeats its movement sets and uses the Ultimate again. There’s a chance to reduce its attacks to 3 instead of 4 by inflicting Cryo, although it’s not guaranteed. This might save a few seconds, which can be crucial for achieving a full star rating on this floor of challenges.

Chamber 3

First Half

  • In the first part, there are two Ousia Mekas in the middle. They can trigger Overload reactions with their attacks. Start by focusing on the Suppression Meka on the right because it’s slower in chasing you compared to the Assault Meka on the left. If you use two Pneuma attacks, you can paralyze them.
  • In the second part, the enemies are the same, but their positions have swapped. When the second wave begins, go to the left side to deal with the Suppression Meka.

Second Half

  • There’s only one enemy in this wave, the Aeonblight Drake. Make sure to bring an archer because when the enemy goes airborne, most melee characters can’t reach it. Use the archer to target the weak points on its head, chest, or wings, depending on its attack. You can spot the weak points by looking at the shining orange orb.
  • Two important attacks to watch out for are the Missile Barrage, which exposes the chest weak point, and the Ultimate–Energy Surge, revealing the head weak point. If you don’t paralyze it before the bomb launch in the Ultimate attack, it gains resistance to the element it absorbed the most damage of (60%).
  • When you hit its weak point, the Drake falls to the ground, providing a good opportunity to use all your skills and bursts. Repeat this strategy: hit the weak point when it’s airborne and take advantage of the time when it stays on the ground. Also, avoid bringing physical characters as the Drake has high physical resistance.

Optimal Team Comps to use on Floor 12 in Genshin Impact 4.4 Update Spiral Abyss

In the first half, each wave has only two enemies, so both area-of-effect (AoE) and single-target damage are effective. You can use any elemental reactions, including Physical, except Dendro, which has a slight disadvantage due to Dendro Breacher Primus with 50% Dendro resistance in Chamber 1. Anemo crowd control (CC) character is beneficial to gather enemies and reduce their elemental resistance.

In the second half, you face single bosses on each floor, so it’s best to use single-target damage. Avoid using Physical damage because both Ruin Serpent and Aeonblight Drake have high resistance (70%) to it. Anemo might not be ideal against Setekh Wenut, which has 60% resistance. Otherwise, most teams are suitable. Ensure you have at least one bow-user for Aeonblight Drake, as it hovers above melee range, and you want to target its wings (weak points) to paralyze it.
