Best upcoming mobile games in 2023
1
VALORANT Mobile
Riot Games has confirmed that their incredibly popular FPS will be making its way over to mobile devices. Over 14 million players are enjoying the game on PC on a daily basis, so the demand for VALORANT Mobile was always going to be huge.
If you’re – somehow – unfamiliar with the game, it is a 5v5 multiplayer FPS shooter set in the near future. Players can select from a roster of Agents, each of which possesses unique skills and abilities alongside numerous guns such as SMGs, shotguns and assault rifles, among others. There are several game modes to choose from, though the most popular mode uses the traditional attack and defend formula.
2
Racing Master
Racing Master is a racing game developed by NetEase and Codemasters that promises to give players the most immersive racing experience Android can offer. Built on a groundbreaking physics engine, the game includes hundreds of fully licensed luxury cars, extensive customization, and stunning racetracks such as Yas Marina, Sicily, and Barcelona.
Being a racing simulator, Racing Masters has excellent graphics and many game modes that will give you realistic gameplay without requiring a thorough study of how to use the controls.
This racing game was announced last year and is currently undergoing all kinds of testing. According to NetEase, it will be released later this year.
3
Zenless Zone Zero
An action RPG set in a post-apocalyptic world, Zenless Zone Zero is yet another HoYoverse creation, coming from none other than the creators of Honkai Impact 3rd and Genshin Impact. With the immense success seen in those, we can only expect everything from the characters, down to the plot to be extremely well-done and immersive.
Zenless Zone Zero has a futuristic approach, but stays true to the visuals we’ve met in Genshin Impact and Honkai, and elevates them to a whole other level. At the moment we don’t have much information about its official release date, but we can only hope it’s right around the corner because with such a promising trailer, we can see the game being a massive success.
4
Solo Leveling: Arise
Solo Leveling: Arise is an action RPG that features the webtool ‘Level Up Alone’, from Netmarble. This game follows the original story of the webtoon it is based on; gates have opened to connect our world to different dimensions. Some citizens have become Awakened Beings who are selected to defeat the monsters that are in each of these gates. You are one of the weaker of these beings, looking to take on the lower level dungeons to support your family, but soon finds that you can level up and become stronger, taking out more powerful monsters. From what has been showcased so far of Solo Leveling: Arise, this action filled game has a lot of customisation within the combat and is very battle focused.
5
Arknights: Endfield
Arknights: Endfield, the latest game by HyperGryph, is a real time RPG with strategic elements, where you are on dangerous planet, looking to survive. This game brings all new mechanics to Arknights, where you will be able to freely explore Talos-II, unlock various story-driven chapters, complete missions, and take on smaller puzzles. There are real-time combat encounters with enemies, where you will need to think on your toes and ensure you defeat them to continue in this wasteland. There isn’t a set release date for the game or anything showcasing the battle mechanics at this time, but the trailers we have seen have been stunning so far!
6
Path of Exile Mobile
Back in 2019, Grinding Gear Games announced that they were working on a mobile version of their popular dungeon-crawling RPG, Path of Exile. Unlike most of the entries on this list, Path of Exile Mobile isn’t 100 per cent confirmed since the developer has previously stated that they won’t release the game if it’s not an enjoyable experience.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t get excited about the concept. Carrying such a sizeable game around in our pockets is a tantalising prospect, no doubt. Much like Diablo Immortal, there will likely be several character classes to choose from, such as Marauder, Duelist, Ranger, Shadow, Witch, Templar and Scion, though none of this is confirmed just yet.
You can read all we know so far, including the Path of Exile Mobile release date in case you are interested in all of the info we have so far.
7
One Punch Man World
One Punch Man World is a highly anticipated anime fighting game, that follows the anime One Punch Man, which became even more popular in the last year. In this game, you are able to immerse yourself into the story, fighting the Mosquito Girl, Beast King, and more. If you are a fan of the series or just a fan of anime fighting games, this game is meant to have a bunch of action, quests, and missions to submerge yourself into.
8
Hades
Hades, which is set to release on iOS through Netflix Games, will bring isometric dungeon crawling to your mobile device. If you’ve not heard of Hades already, you will be playing as Zagreus, the prince of Tartarus and son of Hades himself, as you try to escape your dad and distance yourself from his realm, into the mortal realm to find your mother. Escaping hell isn’t an easy task, and you will find yourself fighting, upgrading, and even dying throughout your adventure. If you have Netflix, this game will be completely free!
9
Cookie Run: OvenSmash
Many of you are already familiar with the cookie games from Devsisters – an adorable endless runner or a delicious kingdom builder/RPG. Both of them have fascinated us with their gameplay and incredibly feisty cookies, but the next big player is already in the making. Cookie Run: OvenSmash is the developers’ next project, and it looks like it’s going to play by the meta – a MOBA.
OvenSmash looks like the first 3D game with actually rendered cookies (which look as delicious as we might expect them to be, looking at you Pistachio Cookie) and while the title is not final yet, it is all we need to spike our interest. While we wait for this tasty new smashing title to release, you can check out some of our other Cookie Run picks! We’ve got a list of all the latest Cookie Run: Kingdom codes, as well as all the latest Cookie Run: OvenBreak codes! And if that’s not enough, you can also stay up-to-date with the best cookies in Kingdom.

Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice
Frostpunk is a very popular PC game, that is making it’s way to mobile this year! Forstpunk: Beyond the Ice is a hardcore, survival game where you need to manage your city, to keep everything running while ice starts to take over. Your city is completely isolated from the rest of the world, and you are humanities last hope to help as many people as possible to survive. There are a lot of tough decisions to be made, and you will need to manage constructing, gathering, and those decisions. We are looking forward to seeing how this translates to mobile this year!
11
Neopets Mobile
I feel like everyone knows Neopets – that webpage site that seemingly any human on the internet in the early 2000’s spent time on. Well, they are currently developing Neopets Mobile, which is nothing like that old site! Instead, players find a small island, after a natural disaster, and need to help the pets out there as they rebuild their world. There are items to collect, lots of nods to the originals world of Neopets, and quests to complete. Though Neopets Mobile doesn’t currently have a release date, it does have a cult following and people can apply to test the game ahead of the release.
12
Totally Accurate Battle Simulator
It’s been a while since we’ve had the pleasure of seeing an absolute masterpiece in terms of simulation – and that is exactly what TABS is. Reminiscing of the good ol’ io games, this totally accurate battle simulator is exactly that.
Chaos ensues every step of the way, and battles will be carried regardless, be it on land or water. The game will have adorable 3D graphics and more than enough humour to go around, so make sure you add this to your watchlist because we sure have!
13
Seven Deadly Sins Origin
The sequel to the Seven Deadly Sins Grand Cross, this turn-based mobile game showcases a massive, beautiful world filled with stories based on the worldview of the Seven Deadly Sins. In this game, you will be exploring the world of Britannia, where your character can interact with time and space. You are able to take part in real-time battles and manipulate other characters, and explore as you please. There are various characters from the original game, as well as new experiences to be had. This switch to an open world game is one worth keeping an eye on, as it looks beautiful.
14
Tarisland
Picture this – a game that gives you all (or the majority) of the features you get in World of Warcraft, but on mobile, and without having to pay a dime; that is exactly what Tarisland is. This MMORPG looks fantastic, and with a closed beta underway, it’s safe to say it’s been mostly positives we’ve learned about.
The game has a number of classes and characters, just like what you would normally get in any MMO, and of course, the characters are customisable (no doubt there!). There will be raids, dungeons, world bosses, and if you’re familiar with seasonal games (like Path of Exile for example) there will also be a seasonal reset, which gives all players equal chances.
Remember we mentioned the non-P2W element? That’s something to look forward to as well, because so far it proved to be true! Oh, and did we mention it looks fantastic too?

The Sims 5 / Project Rene
The Sims 5, which is currently under the name Project Rene, is currently being tested on both PC and Mobile, speculating on a mobile release, though this hasn’t been completely confirmed, there have been lots of releases around the game being cross-platform on Mobile and PC. This would allow cross-save and multiplayer through the various devices, bringing a lot of new ways to play. There isn’t much known about The Sims 5, but I am sure that the game itself will play on a lot of the classic features of The Sims, allowing you to create your own character that lives inside the Sims world.
16
Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade
Sadly without any release date revealed yet, another Assassin’s Creed game is yet to hit the market. Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade will be F2P, and with the UE5 visuals that we know and love from the previous Assassin’s Creed games, we know this one will look amazing.
Taking place in the Qing Dynasty in China, after the events of Odysset and before Odyssey, you know the narrative is going to tie in nicely with all the other games. The gameplay will, of course, be different from the others (since it’s on mobile), but if you love an open-world RPG, you’re going to love immersing yourself in this experience.
17
Awaken: Astral Blade
This is yet another game that promises a lot, but we don’t see much just yet. It’s still in fairly early stages, but so far this ARPG hack’n’slash looks like a game worth adding to your list.
You are in control of a character called Loretta, who has an alien parasite inside. Because of that, she’s able to harness a lot of power and use it in order to discover what actually happened with the world she lives in. It’s a game with beautiful renditions and visuals, and when it comes to the gameplay, you can probably expect some side-scrolling platformer-like action. So far so good – check out the trailer below!
18
Purrfect Journey
A rather unique game in terms of features, Purrfect Journey is a survival, text-based game where you get to cast spells by typing them into the text box for an AI to unleash.
As you might expect from the title, you will be playing as a cat from the Kingdom of Cats, who has embarked on a journey to fend off the evil forces in the world. You will be able to team up with other players and even join PvP battles where you’ll showcase your true powers. So, craft some good equipment and start mastering the elements!
19
Demon Slayer: Battle Royal (KimeKimetsu no Yaiba: Keppu Kengeki Royal)
While we’re not sure yet about the actual release date, we do know about Demon Slayer: Battle Royale that it’s going to be absolutely fantastic. From graphics and animations that match the ones in the manga (and anime), this game looks like a battle royale similar to Onmyoji: Arena (after all, we did get the characters in there as limited event characters).
The information we have right now is from the Japanese site, so we can’t tell for certain if anything will change or stay the same when a Global one rolls around. Until then though, we’ll leave you with the trailer below!

Propnight Mobile
Propnight is a game about survivors and hunters competing against each other on a variety of maps. Teenagers disappear in a small town. You need to either find out the reason for this or further aggravate the situation. Four survivors and one killer are involved in the fight. Survivors can transform into various items placed throughout the level. Thus, it will be possible to hide from the killer.
Killers are also very interesting to play, thanks to the uniqueness of each of them. The game is a port of the PC version. It is recommended to play it with friends to get the most out of the process.
Propnight Mobile is currently in development with a release date set for 2023.
