Skill Analysis
Kalista is a champion with common five skill sets of one passive and four active skills. In this Kalista guide, we will be checking out her abilities in Wild Rift and how to maximize each skill to be in the best shape in the current rank season.
Passive – Martial Poise
- Allows Kalista to Dash whilst Attacking
- Makes Ally Oathsworn at the start of the game
The Dash perk from her passive ability allows her to be extremely mobile on the rift. As with each basic attack, she is capable of dashing a short distance, thus making it hard for enemy targets to pin her down or catch up to her.
Kalista can only choose one of her allies to be her Oathsworn, and this cannot be changed throughout the match. In short, choose wisely the champion which should be your Oathsworn, you could choose your ally support.
Skill 1 – Pierce
Kalista throws an On kill Spear which passes through to the next enemy. Kalista also dashes while casting this skill.
Skill 2 – Sentinel
- Passive: Attack with Oathsworn ally to deal Bonus Champions to enemy champions.
- Active: Cast skill to Summon Soul, revealing hidden enemies in the area.
This skill is quite useful as it gives you and your Oathsworn ally an added advantage against enemy champions. The Damage buff can be essential in swiftly eliminating enemy champions. Whilst it’s active skill is essential to avoid being ganked during any of the gameplay phases. Kalista could use it instead of placing a ward, especially in situations where the ward is on Cooldown.
Skill 3 – Rend
- Passive: Attacks stacks spears in enemy targets.
- Active: The skill can be cast to Rip out the stacked spears and deal damage to enemy champions.
On killing an enemy target with this skill, the skill’s cooldown refreshes and the mana cost is also refunded.
Skill 4 – Fate’s Call
Kalista Summons her Oathsworn Ally to aid her in battle. The Oathsworn ally can then dash to knock back surrounding enemy champions. Coupled with the bonus damage from her passive, Kalista and her Oathsworn ally can jointly attack and easily takedown enemy champions.

League of Legends: Wild Rift Kalista Gameplay Tips
Kalista is a powerful Marksman/ADC role champion who specializes in utilizing her mobility to kite her enemies on the rift. Due to her skill set and hero style, it is highly recommended to go to Duo Lane with Kalista.
Wild Rift’s map is mirrored, so it is necessary to understand the map side before laning. According to her gameplay, we can break it down into three phases. Our League of Legends: Wild Rift guide for Kalista includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid, and late games.
Early Game
You can start by buying the Dagger item at first, for extra attack speed and as a basic item for Kalista’s builds. Choose your Oathsworn, it is advisable to choose your support as your Oathsworn ally. As the support is mostly expected to accompany you in the lane. Do also remember to stay close to your Oathsworn ally to enjoy its benefits.
Next up, proceed to place a ward in the bushes close to your lane so you can be alerted beforehand, just in case your lane will be ganked. If no enemy is around, clear your lane whilst ensuring that the last-hit enemy minions are cleared for more gold. Don’t overextend and focus on farming and destroying the enemy turret, As destroying the enemy turret plating grants extra gold.
Make use of Kalista’s Passive dashes to attack and kite enemies from a distance whilst reducing the amount of damage received to yourself. To easily perform in the early game, one must use the following combo.
Skill 2 + Skill 1 + Skill 3
Mid Game
On properly farming in your lane, Kalista would have gotten enough gold to purchase her core damage items which include Blade of the Ruined King and Wit’s End, coupled with Bloodthirster, one would have enough attack speed and attack damage to burst down enemy champions. To achieve that, one must prioritize aiming the enemy team’s main ADC and mages from the backlines.
As your team depends on your damage during teamfights and ganks. One must also avoid being caught up in the main Crowd control abilities of enemy Tank/Support. Players should also utilize Kalista’s ultimate ability to help gain an advantage when sneaking up on enemy targets and objectives. To easily burst down enemy ADC in the Mid or late game, one must use the following combo.
Skill 2 + Skill 1 + Skill 3 + Skill 4
Late Game
With all the necessary items with you, you’re now capable of killing enemy mages, marksmen, and assassins with a perfectly timed combo. But keep in mind, that an enemy has also that amount of damage. Since positioning yourself matters the most, one must not engage alone.
One can also proceed to take the extra buff rewards from your allied jungler, mostly the Red Brambleback’s buff. Apart from that, accomplish the objectives like clearing lanes, and taking down Epic monsters like Baron Nashor and the Elder Dragons.
Final Thoughts
Judging by her skill info and builds, Kalista is undoubtedly a strong marksman champion who can easily burst down enemy champions in seconds. The blink perk from her passive even makes her more annoying to takedown on the rift. Nonetheless, as long as one has a worthy Oathsworn by one’s side, one can surely overperform on the Rift.
